Title: minature alpha pots
Post by: tubenit on August 02, 2012, 09:46:12 am
I am contemplating trying to an active FX loop to an amp?

I am wondering if the 1/4 watt minature alpha pots would work where I have indicated?   Coming off the send cathode, I wasn't sure if that would be a problem.  I have used them on other builds and (so far) without a problem.

I also thought about using 1/4 watt minature pots that are 500k and then using a 1/2 or 1 watt 470k resistor across the outer lugs.  I don't know if that would "strengthen it" or whether the "weaker" 1/4 pot would still be just as weak?

The issue is VERY little chassis space to work with.

Thoughts?     With respect, Tubenit

I think you'll be fine. There's nothing on your schematic that would cause a problem. Hopefully there's nothing in your pedals that would harm the pots. (That's very unlikely.)
