Got a huge box full of resistors for $5---you gotta love hamfests. Any takers on identifying a few of the stranger items? I'm assuming not all of these are resistors. Some of them look more like inductors or caps. Thanks in advance!

IIRC LC had an amp come thru his shop and had some parts colored like in B and HBP explained the color coding. I thought LC's were R's, but in B it looks like a cap to me.
D is a small choke.

Thanks, Willabe! I'll see if I can find that thread.
Found out that A is a resistor made by Reon. They must be precision, because they are labeled as 909R, and they test within 0.1% of that!
I think you're right that B is a cap. When I test it with my DMM, its resistance increases slowly to 1.2R, just like a cap charging and showing its ESR or something. My meter reads overload on it in capacitance mode, but it does that with anything over 150-200uF.
Like you said, D is a coil, and C is probably also a coil, or a pair of coils (tiny transformer?). C shows low DC resistance between the two leads on each side and infinite resistance between leads on opposite ends.
E and F are capacitors of some sort (47pF and 560pF), but I'd like to know what their history is. They look very different from other caps I've seen.
I think G is a Philco fuse resistor (fusible resistor? fusistor?). I found an old ebay listing where a guy was trying to sell a NOS one with original box for $70! Obviously no one bought it.
H - no idea!
I - high value resistors, labeled as 66M. But again, they look so different from what I usually see, and I'd love to know the history and function behind some of these parts just for fun, like, "That's a flameproof resistor type that was used regularly in industrial settings..." etc...
As I figure things out (or more people chime in!), I'll edit the original post and label stuff. I don't think these things will be much actual use, but it's fun to puzzle over. :icon_biggrin:

PRR, Sluckey and HBP will know what those parts are and there use.

E and F look like Polystyrene caps.
