Title: RE-HASH most "emotional" solo thread
Post by: SILVERGUN on August 15, 2012, 12:18:57 pm
Hey guys, I know this is old news here, but I just found it and it's one of my favorite threads so far....
http://www.el34world.com/Forum/index.php?topic=11325.0 (http://www.el34world.com/Forum/index.php?topic=11325.0)

I seriously believe that there is a link between TUBE AMPS and EMOTION.....I've always strived to be an emotional player and have based most of my influences on it, and would never try to coax an emotional solo out of a SS amp.........there's just something to the feel and feedback that we get from these amps that can NEVER be modeled.....

Anyway, I believe that there are some glaring omissions from the thread, and I don't think anyone was ever named the "winner of the "contest" :icon_biggrin:

This one is for "Ritchie"....it actually proves that Blackmore has a soul (still not sure about Jim).....it has always been in the back of my head, ever since I was 15 and heard it for the first time....I used to play it over and over on the jukebox in a local pizza place because it was a B-side from the Perfect Strangers album....I immediately learned the natural minor scale and never looked back,,,and when I pickup a guitar I still try to sound like this:
Deep Purple Wasted Sunsets + Lyrics (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OIzUL-7Csng#)

And before that there was Page: (the entire guitar part in this song is a man's soul on display)
Tea For One (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wGFCBAcipSU#)

And then, just in case anyone missed this one:
Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble " Riviera Paradise " Live From Austin, Texas 1989 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gVoDVyMY3m4#)

I could go on and on....THIS is what keeps me goin :m17

Ohhh, Stevie..... What a shame.
Almost died from a bleeding ulcer, (brought on by drugs and booze, just like EC) fought his way back from drugs and booze, only to still die way too young.

You know he was a 12 stepper and said that that song was an apology to all the people he had hurt in his life while drinking and drugging.
