I need to get some late 62 oxblood for a 2 12's fender cabinet. I cannot find any larger than 36 x 36. Any suggestions?

Hi,
Just in case you haven't found it yet, there seems to be a web that sells Grill Cloth - Oxblood - early 60's replica - 72" wide x 36" high

Mojotone, 36" wide x the yard. So you could buy 2 yards, gives you 36" x 72".

Brad, the early 60 oxblood is much different. Similar to what fender used on the supersonic series. It does not have any gold in it. It was only used for about 2 years if that. Look at the 8th photo down on this page http://ampwares.com/?brand=fender&line=bassman (http://ampwares.com/?brand=fender&line=bassman)
I have this amp and I need to restore it. The only thing I need is grill cloth for the cabinet. I have found everything else. It is very close to looking brand new. It is a unbelievable sounding amp, but it is worth too much not just to build a replica and then I do not have to worry about mods or drilling holes.

Mojo sells oxblood with out the gold stripe too. Look at that same page bottom left. They have 2 kinds.

Ed, did you find the right oxblood grill cloth yet?

Not yet, but Parts is Parts is sending a sample. Mojo's looks best so far, but I am restoring a 62 bassman and everything is original and in really good condition. I want it to match the head which is original and looks new.
Don't know why I am being so picky as cabinets are not that collectable, but I just want it to look like walking into a fender dealer in 62.

It's your amp, why not have look like you want it too? You'll be able to see the difference.
My wife told me a story her friend told her. A married couple invited over a married couple of friends for dinner. During dinner the husband who was a long time carpenter pointed out that a kitchen cabinet knob was off center. The host was furious with his gest for telling him this. His reason? He said "I've lived in this house for over 20 years and never noticed that before. Now every time I look at that cabinet I will see it now."

That is why. Great story. Every time I look at it, I will know it. My plan is to sell it when complete, but I will fall in love with too.
