what are they good for?

as a driver for electrostatic speakers ?

---

as the price of this amps is high I think you can restore it and sell

you'll get enough money to buy a guitar amp or a lot of parts as to build your own

Yup...good answer ...I researched it kind of quickly and put it on E-bay as found, I think I will let the next owner put it in order looks like caps might do it....

:l2: I went back to the thrift store and lo and behold the speakers had come in on a different truck...
I couldn't resist....I sure hope there is a market for them, they take up quite a bit of space in the shop...If I had a big enough space I'd be tempted to keep them, from what I have seen online these are really nice systems...

Has anyone here actually used electrostatic speakers?

I picked up a condenser mic recently, and got to thinking about how electrostatic speakers are like the same, but in reverse. I've never actually seen/heard a pair in person.

A friend of mine has a set and they sound great. I have a set of JBL signature series from the late 60's with a 15" and a bullet in each one plus a separate bass kicker...that's kind of hard to beat. From what I have read it's finding the sweet spot (on my setup it is really incredible lots of separation of sound and clarity) when you listen on good electrostatics they say it is beyond anything you have ever heard. Some speakers are a combination of speakers and electrostatic.....  :worthy1: These are not and are reputed to be one of the finest systems ever built.
I'll probably kick my own ass one day for selling them.....  :BangHead:
