Title: SE AMP build idea ?
Post by: Colas LeGrippa on October 07, 2012, 11:55:30 am
Hi, my computer crashed with the major part of my schems :sad2: and I know I had a couple of SE schems in there.

I want to build a dual EL34 SE amp and I can't seem to find what i want to on the net.

Any idea, boys and gals ?

Regards, Colas.

Excuse me, but I do not see you change your mind stop you from answering my questions.
It is also a matter of politeness.

Stratele, what are you talking about ? ''Disregard'' doesn't mean ''go fuck yourself '' , why do you think I am impolite ?

Colas

I asked you questions about your project (October 07)
You wrote later ; "disregard's it "

and then ;"I've changed my mind, that's it "

It seems to me that either know have been more appropriate to say more or answer my questions. As if you did not care that I'm  interested to your project.

This is what I found discourteous

I've just recognized that I was thinking PSE and I wrote PPP on my previous message

I mean Paralleled Sigle Ended amplifier

I apologize about the confusion I've generated

SORRY

In general there's no great difference between paralleled single ended and regular single ended.  You can take any single ended design and make it a paralleled single ended design.  You'll be pulling twice as much current, which means:

- If you're using a shared cathode resistor, you'll need to halve it's value.

- You'll need to make sure your power and output transformers are rated for the higher current.

That's it, really.  Before I had it, someone turned my Vibrochamp into a parallel single ended amp.  I rewired it to use separate cathode resistors/bypass caps for each tube so that I could pull one or add it at will.  I never use both power tubes, though.  It's maybe a hair louder with both of them in there, but not much, and I somewhat prefer the sound of just the one power tube.

Kagliostro: you don't have to apologize for a typing error ! thanks anyway and have a good day, sei com' un fratello per me !

colas

Spacelab: thanks for the info, as I said in a post before I changed my mind since I wanted to use the PT and OT I had on my bench actually. So I have built a 2 X 6V6  SE amp that is AWESOME, though not as loud as a 2X EL34 could be.

I love you all !

Can you say that in Italian too? If I were you, I'd concentrate my skills on amplifiers building. Why don't you write me a personnal message, if you have something to say on my behavior ? This forum is sure not the right way to go for that purpose.   jacqueswprevost@gmail.com
