I would love to play through headphones with a tube amp. What is the trick to doimg this. I would guess there is a dummy load, i have heard about a speaker simulators. If any group has an idea it will.be this one. Get the best info here. Thoughts.? SCHEMATICS.

Dummy load a MUST. And an attenuator so you are not sending whole WATTS to a milliwatt headphone.

I know it's not as fun as building, but I actually have one of these that I haven't used in a while and should probably sell:

You could turn it into a science project, I guess, by reverse engineering it. From what I remember there's a big wirewound rheostat and a pot in there. I don't remember which is the headphone and which is the line out.

May be this can help

One way to avoid having to use a dummy load is to break the signal connection to the phase inverter and reroute to a headphone circuit upon plugging in the headphones.
That way, your power amp is still running, its just amplifying silence while your signal is routed to a head phone amp.
That is the way I have seen it done in Booger amps.

I don't know what wattage your amp is but this is the way Marshall did it in a little Studio 15 18 watt 2x6V6 amp I used to own. I never tried it with headphones but the level was way down. It sounded decent when plugging the speaker into it for late night practice. I really liked the idea of having a load on the OT in case you forgot to plug in a speaker.
