Title: 6.3V lamp current
Post by: spacelabstudio on October 25, 2012, 02:57:57 pm
Hi folks,

Does anyone happen to know how much current those 6.3V lamp bulbs draw that EL34 sells?  Retrofitting a chassis that already has sockets for that kind of lamp--just want to make sure I stay in my current budget if I use them.

Thanks!

Are there LED screwin replacements, or is this an opportunity for me to do some jury rigging?  I might just try the jury rig approach, actually.  Keep the jewel lense, but get rid of the bulb socket and just rig an LED up in there somehow.

GE 47 is rated 6.3V @ 150ma.

Is that what Doug sells?  Catalog doesn't say what it is beyond 6.3V lamp.

Probably. #47 is the most common.

Wow!  I looked at that pic half a dozen times and never made that out.  Thanks!

'nother vote for the 150mA version - I use those all the time, and they're plenty bright enough for a Fender bezel jewel.
