Title: latest build
Post by: ernie_jr on October 29, 2012, 07:47:58 am
Here is a run down of my latest build. Will post pics later. It is a hybrid ampeg.
Channel 1 from B25- 12ax7 with bass and treble boost
Channel 2 from B18n- 6ls7
PI- 12ax7 from SB12
Output are a pair of 807's or 6bg6's, I have 2 pairs of sockets so I can use either tube (807s sound the best)
Plate voltage about 440 volts
O/P tranny 6.6K load 50watt from a bogen organ.
Built a custom turret board from Doug's program here.
The amp is plenty loud and dead quiet until you get up to 10 on the volume control. Great amp for bass.
The 807's are cool looking and have a full sound with lots of bottom end.
6ls7 has a better sound than the 12ax7, but both are good.
Has a 5v4 for the rectifier, looks good sitting next to the 807's.
