If you can build an amp you can build a coil winder way cheaper than that thing. I built one for school using sourced parts that would have cost about 250us! The counter is difficult but not too bad!

Cheap calculator (good ones don't do this).
Tack wires to the "=" key contacts, to a flipper/finger on the spindle.
Before a wind, hit "C" "1" "+". Then turn. Each "=" increments by 1.
"C" "12345" "-" "1" and turn will count down from 12345 to zero.

what ever happened to good 'ol 7490s and 7447s or 4026/4033s if you're a CMOS smoker...
