Title: 022905 ohms
Post by: shooter on November 11, 2012, 04:39:13 pm
I found the specs for the output transformer 022905, listed 7000 for primary, 4 for output.  Is that impedence or actual ohms?  cuz i'm reading 213ohms pri and .4ohms secondary.  just about done with hardwiring but wanna be sure b4 i lite it up.  thanks

DC Resistance "must" be much less than Working Audio Impedance.

The DCR is a dead loss. Ideally it will be zero. In real-life we only try to make it "small", 5%-10% of the working audio impedance. You find 3% pri 10% sec, which suggests the labor/cost of very fine wire favored rounding-up primary gauge and rounding-down secondary gauge to fit.
