Title: Happy Thanksgiving USA Folks.
Post by: bigsbybender on November 22, 2012, 03:12:24 am
Hope you all enjoy. It's always been my favorite US holiday. It's the least commercialized (on the day of) of all major holidays and all Americans can celebrate it no matter their beliefs. Also I like cooking and eating!

What do you guys have on your plates today?

Thanks BB! Happy Thanksgiving to you, too!

I'm the main cook on Thanksgiving at our house....I'm simmering the giblets right now to grind up & put in the scratch-made stuffing.
Then I'll start roasting the bird, a 20 pounder...I used to put the stuffing inside, but found it's not worth the hassle of making sure it's cooked all the way thru, so now I bake the stuffing separately.

My wife is a terrific cook, and she scratch makes the yeast rolls, side dishes and desserts. One of the sides I look forward to is the sweet potatoe casserole with marshmallows, pecans and brown sugar,,,,yummmm!

Our daughter & son-in-law (along the 4 1/2 grandkids....#5 is due in a couple of months) will be coming over this afternoon to share the holiday with us.

Oh, and while everything is cooking, we always watch the Macy's parade together!

Happy Thanksgiving.

Turkey, football and goofing off are on the plate today.  Pecan pie is my favorite.  My wife's family is coming to stay a couple of days.  There will be 12 people in my house.  Four of them are 7 and younger.  I am glad I have a man cave.

After a couple hectic weeks at the shop, it's just me and my wife today, nice and quiet. Happy Thanksgiving!
