I was on a roll with the video recording so I did this one also
A Stevie Wonder tune done in the Jeff beck cover style (sort of) :icon_biggrin:
watch on youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sjPLe-BY6hI#ws)

Do you read TAB while you're playing at all,,,or is that all memorized?
I seem to have forgotten more songs than I can remember....
AGAIN,,,,sounds great,,,keep 'em coming
Just the right blend of slight delay feedback......perfect tone,,and very revealing....if you were f'in up we'd all know it
Not sure if you've done it already, but I'd love to hear you do Sleepwalk
-
I don't read tab or music
I just try and remember the song
And that does not work very well sometimes cause I don't spend enough time playing guitar
-
Nice job on that tune caballero....excellent....love the 'pace' you employ.
-
Thanks mon
One of my fav to play for sure
Lots of ways to vary the melody
-
Absolutely BEAUTIFULLY done !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That sounded fantastic! Honestly, I liked that better than Beck's version because your vibrato was more tastefully done (at least to my liking).
You sure are getting some remarkable amp tone. Still using the same tube preamp into your recording system? I think the clarity of your overdrive and distortion is incredible. Zero mud in the tone, just pure great OD sound.
THANKS for sharing it. That really is a soulful tune.
Best regards, Jeff

Thanks Jeff
Yep, same rig
This is the signal chain
I am recording direct from Guitar rig to Mixcraft 6 using the sound card ASIO driver which has super low latency
This page explains what all is going on in the signal chain image

I think the clarity in your recordings is comparable to what I hear of Larry Carlton, Jeff Golub, Johnny A, Chet Atkins, Eric Johnson, Joe Bonamassa and some of my other favorites that make really really clear recordings.
I continue to be very very impressed. Your playing is stellar but 1/2 the art is in the recording and mixing down and you've nailed it!
Thanks for the response! Jeff
-
It's way easier recording direct
I would not be doing any recordings if I had to go through all the monkey business involved with micing amp cabinets
-
Very nice! My wife likes it too. :bravo1:
Merry Christmas Doug.

Thanks Brad
Happy holidays to you guys also

I assume you're also using the line in on the video camera for the audio signal..?....that couldn't possibly be the built in mic picking up the room volume,,,right?........it sounds too, too good
-
I don't use the camera sound
I only use it to sync up the recorded sound to the camera sound track
The camera sound is not very good compared to the recorded sound
-
Well the syncing is dead on....it feels like I'm standing there in "the tone zone" watching you play it and hearing the room volume.....I'm waiting to hear the dog bark or something....
The cleanliness of your playing is what really stands out,,,,,especially the tremolo bar stuff,,great touch......tasty indeed
-
Thanks
-
ok, I'll be the one to ask.....who let the dogs out!? :icon_biggrin:

I think one was outside
The other one is laying in front of the window on the left side of the video
He likes to lay up there and keep an eye on things outside
