Title: What is the advantage of 22 Ga solid core over 22 Ga stranded wire
Post by: catnine on December 24, 2012, 08:32:05 pm
I know the solid core is better to keep leads to stay put but other than that is there any difference in what kind you use? On my SF Champ build I used 22 Ga stranded tinned wire I got from AES and I used green solid core for the heaters . The stranded wire is 600 volt @105 C PVC . I used some also on my other build when I ran out of solid core and made a few changes . If I recall the 73 SF champ I had  had stranded all white wire and the 22 ga I have used is pretty stiff so it stays put.

Solid wire in a Jeep (or long Econoline tour) will break from vibration.

The short heavy runs for heaters, maybe not.

An amp that does not go out too much, it probably does not matter.
