Title: Guitar Treble Bypass
Post by: Fresh_Start on January 17, 2013, 11:03:32 am
StewMac sent me a link to this video on one form of a Volume control treble bypass.  I really liked the alligator clip idea, especially because different pickups and pot values seem to like different resistor/capacitor networks:

Good guitar tone from 0-10: easy clip-on mod (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e0SLdOWvz3c#ws)

Nothing new here but I put some form of treble bypass in every time I go inside a guitar's electronics.

Cheers,

Chip

Same here.....I can't play a guitar anymore without one. I like to use the volume pot for variations in drive, and if it becomes mud when I roll back the volume, I can't stand it.

Thanks for the link.....I'm off to watch it now

Thanks for the reminder.

See, and I hate them.  They make the guitar too bright at the top.

I may not like it either.

The one mod I do on all my Strats is adding a tone control to the bridge pup. Handy.
That plus a "neck on" pup switch makes for some cool tones.

I don't see how that's possible unless by 'top' you mean something other than max CW. When the pot is maxxed out, the R/C network is completely shorted out.
