Title: Blackstar Artisan OT
Post by: dpm309 on February 16, 2013, 10:49:33 am
I have a Blackstar Artisan 100 with a blown Output Transformer and was wondering if I can use a Marshall 100 watt OT as I am having a hard time finding a Blackstar replacement.  Since Blackstar was started by ex Marshall employees, I am guessing that there should not be much difference.  I can't find a schematic anywhere for this amp but it does have 4, 8, and 16 ohm secondaries but am not sure of the primary impedance.  The Marshall OTs I can get locally are listed as 1700 or 1750 CT.

Any advice?

Thanks,

Dan

yes, marshall 100W OT will work. may need to rework mounting pattern though.

Thanks,  that is what I thought.  Should be an easy fix other than possibly re-drilling the mounting holes.  The Artisan series are all hand wired using epoxy resin turret boards so it looks easy to work on.
