Can someone please help me understand the search function? How can I just search for a specific thing?
Example I was searching for an F reverb tank and the results were every word on this site that had a letter F in it: of, from, Hoffman, Fender, etc.
 If I just want results for the letter F how do I do that?

You don't want to search for just the letter "f", trust me.

Best to search for other terms as well, like "reverb" and "coil".

I usually use google site search for searching entire websites, even if the site has it's own. Habit, I guess. Try this in google:

F reverb coil site:el34world.com/Forum/index.php?board=13.0

You may have to scroll through some pages, but not nearly as many as if you would if you searched for "f".

I hear ya but if I use this site(because I like the advise here) and I type "F Tank" it will give me responces with the word tank and any other word with an "F" in it. Is there any way to get responces for "Tank" and "F" not "Tank" and any word containing an "F", on this site?

Try searching "F tank" you'll see what I mean.

Yes I tried that. Saw what you meant.

Try my idea. Cut and paste, give it a spin.

I stopped using most websites' native search engines because a lot of them do wacky things like give you results for every word that has the letter "f" in it.

Type the double quotes into the search input box too. Is that better?

Even so, try Google. But use the syntax that Dreams gave you:

"F reverb coil" site:el34world.com

The 'site:' syntax limits the search to just one website, not the Whole Web.

Google's searching is somewhat smarter than the tool built into the forum software. (And Google 'reads' this forum more often than we do.)

Quote marks help keep a 2-word search from going crazy. (Google will still extend the search without quotes, but tends to put the quote-phrase higher in the list than random "F" and "coil" pages.)

I think you were looking for info on hammond tanks?  If my memory servs, you wanted to know the hammond codes.

That's correct. They are different.

There's plenty of info on that page, but it doesn't cross reference Hammond and Accutronics.

I am not absolutely sure, but it looks like the first chart (attached) is for Hammond tanks because below the first chart it has another referring to Accutronics and MOD and Belton.  The charts suggest them being the same so far as the "F" code is.  The article begins with history of hammond tanks then shows the chart, but it does mention Accutronics.  I don't see any reason to duplicate the Accutronics chart in the article.

Anyway, I needed a Hammond/Gibbs tank for parts.  I got one here working cheaper.

They also cross referenced the number and gave me the specs.

Found an old email from them.
The unit should be a 4FB2A1C.
