Title: Srtatocaster dating??

I'm aware of the serial number mixups on the 1990-99 N9...so, how else would I determine the actual date?
Neck pocket? Pot codes?
   American strat.... N9 83297 or 63297 , hard to tell from pics...

I'm not xpert, but I would think that pot codes would be a big help.

N9 + 5 digits = 1990
