Title: Teisco Checkmate tube amp--- anyone have some info on it?

Hi brothers in tonality!  I saw this amp listed on peabay and wondered if the amp is a 'sleeper' at this price?  Do these Japanese amps have weird tubes and strange circuits?

Standard tubes - 12AX7 & 6L6, kinda pricey though...

IMO it is too expensive $300 .
