Title: Putting a resister across your pot to lower value

Can any one tell me which is the right way. I forgot didnt keep notes on this one.

  " A " is the way.

Easy to see with an Ohmeter wich one you need .

The A solution is sometime used, but I can't say exatly what happens

Te B solution if you have a linear pot modify the response like in a Log pot

A - just puts a parallel resistance across the pot's value.
B - just parallels the wiper's resistance through it's rotation.

Thanks jojokeo I think I just want to parallel through the wipers rotation.  Which would be what Im really looking for, the simple answer seems to help me the best.
