I'm sure this has been discussed already, but here's what I'd like to do on a little SE combo I'm building. The OT is just a single 4ohm tap, not the one pictured in the schematic. Anyway, this seems like it should work fine for plugging in a bigger speaker when I want more volume without killing the OT. Am I right? One-word answers are fine.

That'll work. Here's another circuit you may consider. It automatically disconnects the internal speaker when you plug into the ext jack.

Thanka! I might even do both kinds, then I'd have the option of running 2 speakers for different sound, or just one big 'un.
