Hey, saw Justin Belshe's bassman video and noticed that he pretty much rebuilt his bassman (one of the AB165 to AA864 conversions) and I really love the sound of it in his other videos. I was wondering if anyone could identify wich yellow caps these are, and where I can get some for myself. :icon_biggrin: I've got a bassman 50 that I'm ready to start tinkering with.

Those look like the Malory 150 series to me. They changed the label color to white a while back. Supposed to be the same cap inside.
Doug sells them in his online store.

Awesome!! Thank you :worthy1:

You are very good if you can tell that is these Malory caps give this sound by the web / MP3 / and cheap PC speakers .

Not with my ears. I paused the clip when it had the best shot of the eyelet board. The size and shape look like Malory's to me.
Just a guess.

Agreed.
The relative size vs other components, and their form factor (skinny and long, with a small value that was very small) suggests a polyester film cap like the Mallory 150.
There are a lot of brands that make polyester film and metallized polyester caps with a yellow wrap, not just Mallory. But since the 150 is the most well-known type of this cap, that's probably what the guy used.

You guys were right on the Mallory 150s! Check this out. Really cool picture diary of his entire build.
