Title: Voice of Music Tube Stereo Amp Pots Malfunctioning
Post by: TerryD on June 04, 2013, 09:10:43 pm
This amp had a past life as a stereo console.  I have it compacted and use it for music DVDs.  I really only use it say once or twice or three times a month..could that be a problem?  I clean the pots and then clean them again.  Works ok for short while.  I rotate and get crackling and cut out and have to finnick to get the left side to play.  Volume pot may also crap out on me.  This last time unusually high bass.  I'm not the slickest but I did change all the caps on it.  Whats the best way to deal with the pots???  New ones,   better way to clean??/I use Caigs DP5.  Where do I go?  How do I get the right parts?  I don't want to spend a fortune...know what I mean?

Thanks, Terry

If cleaning the pots is only temporary fix time after time---you need new pots!
