I am looking at one of these on a run-out price. Was planning to use the 4 channels as a line-in interface between my desk channel inserts and my lappy for recording on the move. I've heard mixed reports about the pre-amp quality, but wondering whether it'd still be good for going between a desk and a computer (where the desk pre-amp quality is 24 bit 192kHz)? Any opinions/comments welcome.

I bought this for my son for Christmas, but mostly because it was bundled with Guitar Rig for FREE for a limited time
He likes it a lot, but it is only his first endeavor into PC recording.....from my limited exposure to it, I did appreciate the simple layout and interface
From what I read, the quality is just as good as any other interface in this price range and category
N.I. makes the Guitar Rig software and it's what Doug uses for some of his recorded guitar sounds and tracks

Never have used Komplete but as you know I use guitar rig and love it
NI makes some pretty cool products

I found one of these for a bargain instead.

That's a fire wire external sound card
Is that what you were looking for?
I thought you were looking for software

Yeah I was after the interface. I have yet to plug it in. That's a job for later today.
