Hello all, I am a newbie to amp repairs, etc.
I have a 1969 Fender Super Reverb that needs
a major refurb ( speakers recone, new knobs, aluminum grill frame and period grill cloth)
Most I have been able to order, but I am in dire need
of finding a new faceplate for it and the aluminum grill frame and correct grill cloth. My wife bought the amp for me and she doesn't know
anything about amps. The previous owner painted the face plate black.
By removing the paint I also removed the faceplate
stamping, or most of it. That is my dilemma at this point.
Does anyone have one to sell or know where I
can get one. I greatly appreciate any help.
My amp is a silver face AB763.
The stamp on the chassis is A38590 which
Puts it in the year 1969. The Fender speakers are
CTS. The pots are dated 1968. I hate to see this
nice amp go to waste. Thank you all

You've got a drip edge? Cosmetics are important for pride in ownership, but be careful not to replace anything you do not have to. A faceplate needs to look a little old. Weber for the recones. The do a good job. I do not run any stock speakers in any of my Supers. I keep them and use 2 20 watt Weber Alnico on top and 2 20 watt Weber ceramics on the bottom. The combination is really complementary.
How is the guts. Has it been worked on. If original the caps in the dog house would be paper sleeve mallery's.
Are you planning to make a players amp or a collectors amp?
