Thats a good use for all the 12AU7 tubes i have. I've been wondering for a while what effect having a say 300-400r cathode resistor would make a 12AU7 sound like. Otherwise there off to a tube retirement home. Which is just a box/

Looks like TUBE MAN is anatomically correct...  Of course if I were building a TUBE MAN image of myself, I think there would be a KT90 down there....
