I absolutely could not resist this scope for $10. Not working, not worth fixing (to me) but in such nice condition. Coupla 12AX7's in it, loads of 6DJ8's.

I don't blame you. Looks cool. Can't buy a painting for $10.
Next time I go to a hamn meet I'd like to buy one or 2 of those old wooden am or voltage meters if their cheap enough and look good. I'd put them right in the living room on a book shelf.

You guys ever seen those "scope clocks"? (google it: google images) It's a small uprocessor circuit and HV supply that drives a surplus scope CRT and paints the time (in numerals) on the face of a CRT. You can actually buy kits with PC bd & all. You have to find the old scope tube. Pretty cool, actually...except I can't get involved in a project that produces something that big, with high volts, when I can buy a used 7-segment LED alarm clock for $1 at the next garage sale. But maybe I could do it in this thing. It's in such nice shape....I know I am going to take it apart someday, but it looks so nice.
