what do you guys do with your unused PT leads? do you heatshrink them and coil them up somewhere or do you cut them and heatshrink them? thanks, JMac
-
I heatshrink them and coil them or tywrap to a bundle or just tuck out of the way. Kinda depends on the particular layout and space available. I don't cut them.
-
i was thinking of tie wrapping them to the leads i am using so as to keep the length and also keep them out of the way. thanks.
-
also, i'm using a 110 volt lamp in this amp. should i wire that before or after the on/off switch? thanks again, Jmac
-
If you want the lamp to be controlled by the switch you'll have to wire it after the switch.

I usually solder the to an appropriated sized tag strip. I've seen too many tape wrappings on leads come off. Sometimes, if its a approptiate unused lead of correct, or near correct voltage I use the leads for the pilot light.

IMO wire nuts and/or electrical tape look amateurish inside an electronic chassis.

Everyone uses whatever is available. Almost everything has been available since 1990.

I solder the unused lead to an eyelet. No chance it's going to get loose and wreak havoc then.
