Built this for a situation where one can NOT have a speaker on stage and the amp has to go thru a solid state PA system. Made for a "zero volume" stage. The 100w dummy load resistor does NOT even get warm.
A Hughes & Kettner Red Box MkIII speaker emulator is used on the "combo" setting.
Worked great! Got to hear it played on stage with band. Nice tone. Owner and the band with him were all very complimentary.
It was originally built without the PPIMV which was later added.
Note that part of the layout board is separate. That was a happy accident in the evolution of the amp. BUT ........ I like it because it allows easier access to the OT which is directly underneath that small tag strip area (vs. needing to remove the entire board to get to the OT bolts & wiring).
