Title: Joyo Sweet Baby Overdrive Altercations Please
Post by: TerryD on November 06, 2013, 10:01:27 am
The Joyo Sweet Baby overdrive is pretty good but it seems to thin out the sound where as I'm looking to round out a sound for some nice jazz distortion ala Mathew Stevens.  Sure would like to know what he uses for distortion...so natural.

In any case anyone know some mods for the Joyo?   I added a tone knob to see if that would do...helps but no prize.   Thanks, Terry

I see at your post on 'freestompboxes' that a member suggested adding a compressor. That certainly seems like a good start to me. You could also try an EQ pedal and shape the frequencies that imitate the tone better?  If the Joyo uses an IC op amp as the active device, you can try different op amps and find one that gets you closer to your goal.  Put a snap in base on the pcb and you can simply pull-push diff ICs in and out.
