Hi all:
Like any good human being I only show up on this board when I need help :help: I recently bought a 66 Pro Reverb in very good condition, it wasn't operational at the time I bought, but it was clean enough I took the gamble. The amp sounds pretty good, but... the reverb channel is not working. So I thought I would appeal to the gurus for help trouble likely culprits, and possible fixes.
Thanks in advance for the help.
Cheers

the reverb channel is not working.
Can you be more specific?

I don't get any kind of reverb effect at all, it must still have some kind of signal because it does have a hiss that gets louder as the control is turned up, intensity and speed same story no change in effect at all as the control is turned up. One thing that might be worth mentioning, I had Pro Reverb before, I remember the red colored cable went on the right (red right) which I think is input. On this one, the red cable went to the output, so I tried swapping, but that just made it really noisy.

Free and easy trouble shooting=Swap out your reverb cables with known to be good hi-fi RCA cables. If that doesn't work, swap in a known to be good reverb pan designed for Fender- you don't have to remove it from the cabinet, just plug the cables from yours to the good one. Try Swapping v1 for v3 if you don't have another 12AT7. If none of these work, then you'll have to dig into the circuit. It's probably a broken wire in the reverb pan. If it is the pan, get a new one rather than trying to fix the old one- it is a fragile device that's close to fifty years old.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will try those steps and hopefully be able to get it figured out.

Did you find the problem with the reverb not working? Cables,Tank,Tube,Transformer?

I have not had a chance. It's frustrating, been so busy with work I'm trying to find the time to sit with this amp for a while. I will report back when I have had a chance to check it out. Appreciate the good suggestions I always get when I come here.
