I want to order a pair of speakers for my next project (silvertone 1484 inspired) and I'm considering Celestion creamback G12-65's. No real reason other than I want to try them out. But I want to keep to the tone of the 1484. Jensen's would be the safe route I suppose or Weber equivalents.

Any opinions?
I have pair's of Vintage 30's, Fane's, Celestion seventy 80's, and weber 12F150's to try also.

The originals (at least in the one I had) were low end Jensen ceramics.

And that's what I keep thinking I should order... Jensen C12Q's.

Funny thing. I just did a search for Jensen C12Q on ebay. Look what was at the top of the list...

OK I ordered them. I'll save the creambacks for another project.

When I made a cabinet for my brother's 1484, I ended up making one for a couple 10's and used Eminence Legends....the amp had too much bass with 12's and with 10's it is perfect.
