Fantastic.  Amp looks great and the breakup is really nice.  Great playing never hurts either.  Never thought much about the Tweed Pro, but this is a killer tone.

Great work.

The tweed pro is my favourite amp of that era.  Just pure tone perfection in my opinion.

Thanks for checking it out, I am proud of this build.   :icon_biggrin:

This "Preacher" isn't for me to keep…I am ordering another one that will be for me. :icon_biggrin:

Sweet! I'm building a 5E3 Deluxe on a junk chassis pretty much because I found all the parts laying around. But the output tranny is huge, from a Baldwin organ than ran 6L6's. Maybe I'll hop it up to a Pro. Very little difference.

Odd that there's no choke in this Pro.

Think there s a MOJO 77 Choke that I saw.

You did a beautiful job on that build! The amp sounds great! And your friend is just tearing it up! Man can play!

The latter tweed pro had a choke.

Nice TG,,,
Just when I was starting to feel good about my dinky little amp demo    :icon_biggrin:

Great job on the build and the demo....it doesn't leave me with any questions about how great that amp sounds...

Nice organic sound, just makes me want to build one,,,and start practicing my guitar playing  :undecided:

The 5e5 cathode biased Pro does not have a choke but this one, 5e5a, fixed bias does have a choke.

One of the modifications I added to this circuit is a fixed/cathode bias switch. very cool.  I prefer the cathode bias mode.  There is more bloom in cathode bias mode.

Sweet,   the 5E5A is one of my favorite circuits.  Thanks for the tip on the cathode bias switch.

Aha!! Learn something all the time on 60 year old stuff!

Thanks for your post, excellent!

You know.....that gives me an idea to build an AB763 Deluxe (with or without reverb) but with cathode bias.

That is GREAT news TG,

It's really cool to know that there is still a market for these things out there in this world of cheap Chinese throwaway CRAP

Very nice!

Let us know what you do for speakers on the next three builds.  That Jensen sounds killer.

I've got a 5E5A based build (running 6V6s instead of 6L6s) that I haven't found a speaker for.  I've tried it with a Hellatone V30 and its not right.  it sounds much better with my test/beater 12" (a ceramic Wharfdale from a 90's AC15).  maybe it really needs an alnico, but I don't have one on hand to try out.

Once again,  very nice build. (great playing too..)

The next one is going to have a Weber 15F150-B.

The next two I'm debating whether to try the Warehouse G15C and maybe a modern Jensen C15N.
