Title: mixing diodes in PS
Post by: punkykatt on February 15, 2014, 09:37:34 am
Hey Guys, Have a Fender Super 60 on the bench that blows fuses. Found a shorted diode in the PS. My question is: The PS has (4) 1N4006 diodes, can I replace the shorted 1N4006 with a 1N4007? Thanks in advance. Punky

I would say yes, it's just a little higher voltage raiting, but if 1 went then the other that it was paired with might have been strained.

1N4007's are dirt cheap, that amp and it's diodes have no collector value so why not just change them all and be done with it?
