My latest project is inspired by a Silvertone 1484 Twin Twelve.

That looks like a very fun build! That's probably the closest I've heard to a Hound Dog Taylor or JB Hutto tone in a long time.
Cool!

very nice build!

Nice build and nice video!!
The most microscopic nit I will pick would be the bare wire across the B+ caps. I like to see that insulated unless it's under about an inch long and it will never be that short with can-type caps.
The other 99.99% is top notch! Very nice work all around!

Fair enough. I didn't bother insulating that wire because it is the negative/grounded connection of the filter caps. I thought about it when installing it but wanted a nice straight wire and decided to not bother. If it had voltage on it, I would have definitely used an insulated wire.

Then I withdraw my nit!
Looked to me like it was a different terminal connected to the ground star. Never mind!

No worries, it's all good!
Thanks for having a look :icon_biggrin:

I was pleasantly surprised when compared directly to an original 1484 amp. This one definitely sounded within the same realm as the original, with just a bit more presence and sparkle and more gain on tap too.
I am not sure if I will keep this one in my collection quite yet though, I may wait for the thrill and coolness of the sparkle tolex to wear off and then part with it. At least that's what I am telling my better half right now :l2:
The voltages of this new build match very closely to the original 1484, which I am happy they do.
And Hound Dog's tone is what I was hoping for! Glad you mentioned that.
