Title: warbler SR Xfmrs
Post by: jeff on March 02, 2014, 12:04:15 pm
Anyone have a source or know where I can get my hands on two of the SR Xfmrs used in Sluckey's warbler or hammond AO-47?

Thanks
  Jeff

Thanks I'll try ebay(never bought anything off it before).

I think I'll try making the LDR/Neon bulb 1st but if that doesn't work out well I'll know where to look.

Thanks

Yep. AO-41 or AO-47.

Don't be in a rush, and you can get them cheaply. The price fluctuates, mostly with people rediscovering this project.

How cheap is cheap?
$20 + $12 S&H too much?

Probably not.

Looking back through my notes, I bought an AO-41 on Ebay for $13 and just under $10 shipping.

OK thanks

My first thought was to build something like the warbler but using LDRs instead of the SR Xfmr.
But now that I think about it more, is there a big difference in the fact that the SR Xfmr isn't a changing resistance, but because it's a coil, it has impedance...in other words different resistance at different frequensies?

Do you think that there is something to the SR Xfmr that can't be duplicated by using LDRs in it's place?

I think I might be missing something.

No. Well at least for the purpose it was intended.

Willabe had some SR units a while back (I bought a couple off him). he may have the odd one for sale still.
