First post on this forum...

Just recently I built a 5E7 and now as per the wishes of the recipient of this amp, I'm attempting to add a one-tube reverb.  It's Tubenit's borrowed design.
My question is about the proximity effects, if any, of mounting the tube and the reverb tranny. 

As everybody knows, there's not a lot of room to spare in a tweed chassis.  So I'm thinking I'll mount the reverb tube between V1 and V2 horizontally, and about a quarter of an inch above the bottom of the tranny side of the chassis vertically.  (Creating a sort of triangle of tubes).

I'm thinking the tranny will go on the tranny side of the chassis near the tube side edge so as to miss the circuit board with the tranny mounting screws.

I hope that makes a good enough picture for you.

Mostly I'm just looking for some "watch out for's" and be "careful not to's"

It's really hard to visualize what you're saying?  Can you post a photo and indicate on the photo what you're considering? 

You may not want to go this route, but you could install a passive effects loop very easily on a tweed chassis and then use a delay or a reverb.  I use a Hardwire RV-7 reverb.

I went ahead and mounted the tube socket and reverb tranny, so I've committed to trying it this way.

And yes, the effects loop would be good except the future owner of this amp wanted spring reverb and a more plug n' play type amp.  Minimal extraneous wires, etc.

Here's the pic of how I'm doing it.  Any comments are very welcome.  (Be nice...:-)

OK, but where are you going to put the resistors and caps for the verb tubes circuit? And where are you going to put the jacks for the verb tank?

That might work.  I built something reasonably similar and crowded with reverb and got by with it.  However, it was a fairly low gain amp.

Thanks for the comments and questions.

Regarding other parts: I previously moved the input resistors to the jacks themselves making their place on the circuit board available for the cathode caps and resistors, also conveniently close the the ground bus.  I'll use a terminal strip for other connections. 

I just deleted a wordy paragraph about all the possible real estate I have left in the chassis for mounting parts.  Suffice to say, I see no problem there.

What may really be a stretch, literally and figuratively, is instead of sacrificing an input jack and/or a Normal channel for the pot space, I'm going to attempt to use the obsolete ground switch hole (all the way at the other end of the chassis !) for the reverb pot, which will also have a DPDT switch to switch the reverb completely out of the signal path.

You may laugh, but I'm having too much fun to stop now...
