Anyone heard of Haltron tubes ? I bought a couple NOS 6SC7s that are Haltron brand. My old National amp uses that one.
I could rewire to a 6SL7, but wanted to keep the original type....

Never heard of that brand but got a couple of amps with 6SC7's and been pretty happy with their performance. Platefire

An internet search turned up: "... Haltron, which was part of the British Hall Electric company that distributed valves and components in the UK."
I would read that as akin to the old "International Servicemaster" or "Richardson Electronics"/"National" brands, which relabeled and distributed other makes' tubes.
Given the 6SC7 is a U.S. type, if the tube seems genuinely old, I'd assume it is a U.S. tube rebranded by Haltron for sale in the U.K. market.

i have quite a lot of those. they seem to be relabeled tubes as some of them have more than one type of ink on the glass.

These both say "made in England" on the glass.
Anyway, the one I'm using works & sounds good. Last time I bought a couple NOS tubes like that, they were microphonic as hell and I tossed them.
The other tubes I bought were 6SJ7s, which have the brand name CEI on the box & on the tube.
