My roses are looking pretty good this year despite the bugs trying to eat up leaves etc.......
I've got maybe 14 or more rose bushes. These are two of my favorites. I have quite a few varieties. Another new that I like is Gold Medal which is a very rich golden/yellow rose.
Rio Samba
Double Delight ( white with red/pink edges).
Both of these have a wonderful fragrance!!! Especially the double delight rose.
AND I've already got a small cherry tomato plant with 3 tomatoes. I got a black cherry tomato plant also this year which will be a new one
for me.

I really like those peachy colors. I've never been good with roses, except the knockout variety. They seem to be bulletproof. Seeing yours makes me want to try some more varieties.

Sluckey,
I hope you will try some IF you have yard that gets at least 6 hrs of full sunlight.
The varieties of hybrid tea and floribunda that I've done that are somewhat easy care and bug/disease resistant are the following:
Mr. Lincoln
Double Delight
Rio Samba
Hot Cocoa
Playboy
Easy Does It
David Witherspoon Roses are very nice quality: http://store.witherspoonrose.com/roses/hybrid-teas-grandifloras.html?p=10 (http://store.witherspoonrose.com/roses/hybrid-teas-grandifloras.html?p=10)
I've also had reasonable luck with Jackson & Perkins if I get them locally: http://www.jacksonandperkins.com/roses/c/JP-Roses/ (http://www.jacksonandperkins.com/roses/c/JP-Roses/)
With the amount of rose bushes I have, even on a "thin" week, I'll probably bring 6-8 roses in the house and/or to my work or my wife's work.
I don't consider myself any type of an expert at all & they work for me. Occasionally, I'll lose 1-4 bushes in a really cold winter or from spraying roundup too close to the roots.
There is an old saying "plant a $10 rose bush in a $20 hole" which means getting good potting soil and adding cow manure really does make a BIG BIG difference. Other then that I simply spray them with Nheem's oil (super cheap and works great) or one of the Rose disease/bug sprays. I use rose food and/or bone meal to fertilize.
Honestly, I don't put much time in on them. During the summer heat, I'll keep a sprayer with Nheem's oil handy for the black spot and bugs and spray them when I get home from work. Takes 5 min of effort max maybe every 4-7 days. That's about it.
I have about a 66% success rate planting bare root roses. Buying a nice bush in a pot almost always works for me.
LOTS of fun! Best regards, Jeff

Another grouping of them.
Rio Samba yellow/peach edges
Double Delight white-cream/ pink- light red edges
Gold Medal all yellow
I've got a good bunch of all red Mr. Lincoln roses about to bloom also. Had some Hot Cocoa ones also but didn't get a picture.

And while these are obviously not roses ....................
I did think it was kind of a cool picture of these petite dainty flowers around the gnarly roots of our pin oak tree. They only bloom
briefly in the spring but we sure enjoy them.

I don't know anything about raising roses, but they sure do look nice

Yellow one, pink one, white one, red one, lavender one, peachy one . . . names are on the tags that are hard to get at without drawing blood.
There are two more out of frame here, and more around the other side of the house.
