Title: discharging filter caps in MOD 102
Post by: blindopher on June 27, 2014, 10:20:40 am
Hi,

I need to do a fix on my amp: MOD 102 - a DIY 5W SE class A amp head.

Here's a link to the amp page with schematics:

Here's a direct link to the schematic:

I would like to know if aside from the 3 power section filter caps - do any of the other smaller electrolytic caps and/or bypass and coupling caps present any potential danger. In other words, with the amp unplugged and the 3 big power-section caps drained (either by the internal bleeders or by me) - is it safe to TOUCH anywhere inside?

thanx!
