Saw the James Brown movie "Get On Up" this wkend. Not a very pleasant movie, but incredibly gifted job by the actor (Chadwick Boseman) playing James Brown. There were some pretty hard scenes in the show particularly in his childhood.
I don't think I've ever seen a movie where someone played another person and looked, moved, acted, sang & talked like the person they were impersonating. The singing and dancing was totally phenomenol.
I saw James Brown live in the fall of '68 in Shreveport, La. Fabulous show and remarkable energy that he had.
I thought this was a very interesting version of "Man's World" by the Godfather of Soul & Pavoratti.

Well they called him 'the hardest working man in show business.'
'It's a man's world' is my favorite JB song.

I kind of liked Hot Tub, done by Eddie Murphy doing James Brown!
Seriously, what a performer/musician. One of the greats! The guy had no ankles! I still don't know how he danced like that!
