Title: rola 12 info/ID
Post by: shooter on September 17, 2014, 09:05:26 pm
had a couple what I thought were eminence speakers but I found here or via a link it's a rola?, which sounds really good in my current build.  after surfing and reading histories I'm more confused.  here's the numbers
285939   A0-21270-0  14557.

I don't wanna blow it up so any help pointing me would be great.  It's a 12"  dcr 7.5ohms
thanks

The EIA code of 285939   would indicate ROLA  made the 39th week of either 1959 or 1969 (Alnico would make me lean more toward 1959).  The AO- code is a part number specific to the Hammond Organ company who frequently used Rola, Jensen or Heppner speakers.

Most of these speakers would be 25-30 watts each.  They sound great in a Deluxe and other smaller guitar amps.

thanks BB, the amp is a hybrid very clean but running about 40-50watts.  I did a brake job for a neighbor kid and he brought me 2 as payment!
