Title: New project - 2204-ish 2x6V6s
Post by: Ken Moon on October 03, 2014, 02:52:35 pm
Here's a chassis fit check pic of my latest project - it's basically a 2204 with 6V6s.

The PT is a 370EX (275-0-275ct/150mA/6.3ct/4A).

The OT is a GDS Amps 18-watt (8K pri, 4//8/16 sec). The choke is a 14684, as used on almost all of the tweed amps.

The preamp will be straight 2204, but with one input (same topology as using high sensitivity input).

I'm going with fixed bias and no NFB - the power amp will be much like a 5G9 Tremolux, but without the tremolo.

I'm hoping for a B+ of 390V or so (this PT will probably be able to maintain that), with SS rectifier, 100uF reservoir (F&T 50/50  cap can w/ both caps in parallel), and 50uF CG-series single cap cans for each of the other 4 nodes. For the power tube cathode resistor, I'll start with 300 ohms and tweak from there.

I hope to get this done pretty quickly, and put in a nice small box Marshall head box I've had around forever.

Wish me luck - more pics to follow  :icon_biggrin:
