Edited - workaround for problem - see bottom of thread
When you 'upgrade' to OSX10.10 and then try to open JSchem, you get a message that comes up saying "You can’t open the application “JSchem” because PowerPC applications are no longer supported."
Dayum (you might think). Read the fix further down the thread.

I think that's somewhat incorrect. PowerPC applications haven't been supported for quite some time. I think it's having trouble with the Java runtime environment. When I logged in after upgrading to Yosemite it whined about me needing to install the Java 8 runtime (in this case for the Adobe updater). This might help:

Thanks for that. I'm running Java 7 from Oracle. This is a fix apparently

I'll check it out.

Well that didn't work. I messaged Bernhard

I've just heard from Bernhard after a short hiatus. He's very generously started looking at the problem again - hopefully it'll all be up and running again soon in OSX10 Yosemite.

Yay its working again if you re-download the version in the link for Macs and install Legacy Java SE 6 for mac.

(At least on my Macbook Pro it is working again - altho' I can't access the extensive library of components I had built up in the old version of JSchem. However, JSchem is still hanging up on my mid 2011 iMac desktop, which is running the same OSX10.10. I emailed Bernhard again)
