Still one of my favorite amps! Sort of like a clean/more headroom version of 5E3, IMO.
I built this for a close friend some years ago and every few years have "borrowed" it to give it a check up. I'll have to say that I feel like I
"got it right" on this amp yrs ago. It has some unique features with a Dano tone stack and the one tube reverb with a concertina phase invertor. This time I changed the master volume to be a LarMar PPIMV.
It sounds really really great to me! Just a very fun amp to play. The cab is pretty small. It's the one on the left in the photo. It sports a
Emminence Ragin Cajun speaker. The reverb works fine for me and I like it set on somewhere between "3-5" on this amp. Subtle, but you can sure hear it.
The original thread in the ExpressSCH Library disappeared for some reason, so I thought I'd mention the amp again since it's been awhile since I really talked about it. This could be a candidate for one of Doug's new chassis.
With respect, Tubenit

Nice wood, I can see why you had to borrow it back. I'm gonna mod my last hybrid build, adding a tube 2nd channel, preamp is in, just playing with PA choices and Preamp tweaks. I've been thinking a 5e3ish tone for that channel, channel 1 is way clean, BUT, a tube clean channel might be good, borrowed your schematic, thx!

Those cabinets are a work of art. If I made them they would go in the living room and never move for fear of scratching them.

:worthy1: Holy Smoke!!!!!! Those are Insane. Youll need to put a 5' barrier around them when using

All of Tubenit's amps are like that. He's an excellent woodworker (and the amps sound mighty fine, too)!
I was fortunate that he agreed to help with my Standel 25L15 (http://el34world.com/Forum/index.php?topic=14263.0)build by making a custom cabinet for me. It turned out great!

Much respect :headbang:
Quick question - why are the power tubes biased so cold?
With a B+ of 409V, wouldn't 250-300 ohms be the typical values here?
