Title: 212 Stereo wiring with 2 Jacks
Post by: shortfuse on November 05, 2014, 08:46:47 am
I want to run 2 - 16 ohm speakers in stereo and at 8 ohm mono, found this diagram on line seems simple enough without buying a pre-wired 35.00 jack plate.  Any draw backs to using the shorting leg to accomplish this?  Or should I use DPDT for positive switching?

That circuit will work fine. I would trust Switchcraft 12A over Cliff jacks, but I really, really trust a SPST switch most of all. You don't need a DPDT.

Here's a drawing I did for someone else a few years back. It's electrically the same as your drawing.

A few days late, but here is how I would do it...
