Title: 6J5 tubes
Post by: billcreller on November 17, 2014, 12:43:59 am
I have 10 used 6J5 tubes, 8 glass, and 2 metal.  I'm debating on tossing them......are they any good for audio amps ??

Single medium mu triode..........free for postage if anyone can use them..

6J5 is IMHO the sweetest little triode. (Sweeter than a half 6SN7, which "is" nominally a double 6J5.)

Might be better in Hi-Fi than in a geetar amp.

OK,..... how about using two of them for a PI in a PP 6V6 power amp ?  Just one more socket in the chassis !

that works.

or... just use one for a cathodyne and push it with a 6SL7 with cascaded stages, one knob tone control, & volume. 4 bottles: 5 if you go hollow-state recto.

should make a for nice cleaner sounding amp.
