Title: Hotrod Deluxe Power Supply Caps
Post by: Jack1962 on November 23, 2014, 11:02:26 am
in the hotrod deluxe they use a voltage multiplier in the power supply , using 8200pf 1Kv caps(4) . would it make much difference if any if they where replaced with 10000pf 1KV caps ?

Hmmm, the schematic I see uses a standard FWB with a single 8200pF across the AC input to the bridge, but I see no reason to not just use a .01µF.

Edit... found a later schematic of a HR Deluxe/Deville that does have a cap across each diode of the bridge. I'd still use .01 caps if I could not find 8200pF.

Thanks Sluckey , could you either post that later HR Deluxe/Deville schematic or the link to it ?
