Title: THE CANUCK
Post by: TubeGeek on November 30, 2014, 06:49:25 pm
Theme: Canada

Circuit: Brown Note D'Lite 22W

Speakers: Weber 12F150 x2 (Red and White)

Speaker box: Closed back or open back. White panel is removable.

Wiring: Tried to use red and white solid core teflon wiring where I could to keep on with the theme

Cabinets: Made by a buddy to my specs out of pine.

Tolex: Red and White sparkle

Grill cloth: Canadian Flag

Knobs: Red and White

Power lamp is red and standby switches to White/Clear lamp!

Painted the transformers and chassis with the Canadian flag colours.

I am now in the process of voicing the amp.  Couple more weeks and I'll share some recording clips.

Hey TubeGeek, Nice work, having the option for a closed/open back speaker is a very useful. I did it on a couple of boxes and had it hinged with a small barrel bolt for an easy open/close.

Very nice!

How did you get 1 red and 1 white speaker frame from Weber?

Very very cool
the only way it would have looked better is if it were Black Gold and White and had a Big "B" where that Leaf is.  LOL  :l2:

Excellent job again  :worthy1:

The base of this design was pulled from a Dumble I believe.  I followed the Brown Note D'lite layout.

That's exactly it.  It was last January when I had a thought to make a Canada themed amp while I was choosing the silver sparkle tolex for the silvertone project I did.  I noticed the red and white sparkle tolex and thought to myself....how cool would it be to build an amp with those two colors.

It just took off from there. Concept to reality.  It was lots of fun and a pain in the butt at times (tolexing).

Now I am already thinking of what the next project theme will be!

It really makes a difference between the two modes!  I am happy I did that too.

I just ordered one white and one red.  They had the option of doing that at the time I ordered them.  Not sure if they still do.

I was thinking it would have been a bear to try and spray paint them with the cones already installed.

Very nice touch to add them to the builds color schem.
