I built the model 16LS stereo tube amp kit that utilizes 5670 triode and 6005 pentode tubes. I have been using it in my guitar rig that has a modded ADA MP-1 guitar pre-amp with tubes. (New ss mod tube board, new tyranny and filter caps) It sounds good to my ears but I was wondering if there is any reason why I should not be using the 16LS as a guitar amp. Are there advantages to building a stereo amp kit specific for this rig? Could I expect a warmer, better tube tone from say a 6v6? I think an 18 watt per side should be enough. I like the idea of a completely tube-driven guitar rig.
Thanks ahead.
I was not sure where to put this since it's just a question.. Sorry if it's in the wrong spot.

6005 "is" a 6V6, ruggedized, in a smaller bottle.
if it sounds good, do it.

I built a hybrid this year for a player with specific requirements, the biggest one, NO distortion, but warm smooth tone. I bought a Marantz 7 preamp board-kit, mated it with a 70W SS PA section. When he plugged in his big-O F body Gibson n played he thought I got it just like he wanted! I'm now cutting up the original board n making a 2 channel, all tube, real amp, WITH distortion, so ya, they can serve both, for some.
